    Barely any help

Not quite what i expected from a site that is supposed to help you find a job. Not many responses for me, and I'm in the technical field with a degree from a good school. And yes, I have a good-looking resume.

    OK, not great

When I look for jobs, I find that Monster is pretty good. Searching for local jobs is good. Still, I think I've gotten more calls from answering ads on craigslist and dice.com than Monster. I'm in the computer engineering field.

    You are better of getting a newspaper

I'm not saying you can't get a job on the internet but I have not, and I did not get any results from Monster.

    Ok for jobs but search function is poor

I like careerbuilder better because you can search without having to log in every time. It is also terribly expensive to advertise a job offered on monster. I've had better luck on craigslist.

    The premiere job internet site

This is the place to go if you're looking for employment. You might also want to include your local paper's job site in your search but definitely go to Monster. You can post your resume and set up job searches with results that will be mailed to you daily or weekly. As it happens, I've found jobs through other means but Monster was always part of my employment-seeking strategy.

It also works great as a way to see what types of skills you should be building on for a future position you aspire to. Look around on Monster even if you don't need a job right now, just to give yourself direction in your career path.

A minority of job postings will list the salary so, even if most don't, this information is very helpful in figuring out what you should ask for if you do get offered a similar position.
