They have a wide variety of animals to choose from at Petco. I like how on Saturdays, they have dogs for adoption. I love being able to watch the dogs that come in. The workers are very kind with the animals. What I don't like though is how the store always stinks like animals and I can't stand the look of some of the rats and such.

    Time to get some new help!

I recently went to purchase a hamster. Petco is a nice, clean store, and they always have what i'm looking for. I asked the store assistant (an elderly woman) if she could get one of the hamsters out of the cage for me. Well, her reflexes were a little slow, and the dropped the hamster (poor thing). Luckily, he didn't die. Then, she picked it up, and while trying to hold onto in dropped it AGAIN. By then i felt so horrible for it I told her I would buy it just so she wouldn't drop it anymore.

Note to Petco: Try someone a little younger in the Live Animal department!

I do not enjoy the chore of purchasing food for my daughter's rabbit. However, the sales people and the cashiers are extremely helpful and pleasant, asking about the pet, and generally being cheery and friendly while being very efficient about ringing up the purchase and packing the bags.

    petco is the best ever!

through the years ive had 5 hamsters, 2 cats, a dog, and a fish and ive always shopped at petco for everything! they have everything ur pet can possably want or need and i just love looking at all the pets they have at their store! all the staff knows everything about each animal and the care they need!

I've shopped quite a bit in Petco and have general found everything I wanted and enjoyed the overall atmosphere of the store. The animals seem well cared for. Recommended!

    They have what you need

Petco is like the big box (costco) of pet stores. They usually have what you even if it's not the exact brand. Prices are excellent on some merchandise and high on others. do your homework.

    Great Place for Pets

I love Petco though the staff isn't really helpful for questions. The selection is great and the prices are good too.

I personally shopped at Petco for fish and I loved how new, different fish would take the place of sold ones, rather than the store restocking the same fish over and over.

Especially with fish, know what you are doing before you go there, do not rely on the staff for answers to your questions. I did that when I first started out and watched $70 worth of fish died within a week!

    Not Very Knowledgeable

I have two pet rabbits. After having them live with me for awhile I realized that they are big animals that need the attention of a cat or dog. No retailers are good at helping with this. I was looking for someone that made a good pair of nail clippers for rabbits. I talked with the people at petco and they told me that I should just use clippers like I use for my nails. A Rabbits nails are like a dogs, human clippers could crush the nail and really hurt the finger. Very saddened by their lack of knowledge and caring.
