clunky process but great service
I used Roomorama to book an apartment for a short stay in NYC. The process revolves around the renter paying Roomorama the entire amount, the Roomorama holding the amount / payment code until you have checked in. This system works well in theory but is a bit clunky in process, especially for the hosts I can imagine (no payment up front so no real gurantee). However we were scammed and luckily picked up on it, in which case the Roomorama crew were extremely quick and helpful, refunding the entire amount including the currency conversion and amending the situation, and suggesting other verified hosts. This helped a lot when making our next booking. I'd definitely use the site again, but would be careful how I use it / who i choose.
