Pleased with overall customer service...

I have never been to a Best Buy where the customer service people acted like you were a problem. They were curtious, and friendly... and almost always helpful in finding what I needed - whether it be computers, televisions, DVRs, Car Radios, down to CDs. It's worth it to me to go to a place where I can find things easily, and have that kind of sales personnel that WANTS to help you!

Love the staff at Best Buy. They were patient and didn't mind educating me on the differences between Plasma, LED and LCD. Even recommended a tv stand that would stand up to my boxer and keep my new tv safe.

Best Buy is one of my favorite stores for electronics. They have a large selection, top-notch customer service, and great hours at my local store. Best Buy regularly offers deep discounts on major brand items. They price-match their competitors so you don't need to run around town checking prices. They have a great variety of household items, computing items, television, games, car stereo....etc. While their prices are not always the lowest, their overall value, quality, and service makes shopping their consistently worth your time and money.

    Inadequate computer sold

A friend bought a computer that was inadequate. She explicitly told the sales rep exactly what she currently had and what she needed to replace it i.e. needed to hook up to pin feed printer and dictation machine. She paid the extra $$$ so that it was to be out of the box EASY set up --- ready to go to work. WRONG! Not only was it not easy to set up - it ould not work with her existing equipment, another trip to buy one adapter, Best Buy did not have the other one. After about a week of frustration, she ended up returning the whole thing.

I am a female and when I am shopping in the refrigerator section or something similar there always seems to be someone asking if they can assist me. But at one point, I was shopping for my husband and was shopping in the car audio section. It seemed that they were much more interested in talking to the men that were shopping than me. Gender bias? I don't know. Maybe just me being frustrated because I really did need assistance and didn't get much attention.

I think best buy is a great B&M store. It's got a lot of stuff I want to go there and feel/touch/and play with. However I wish that their staff is a bit more knowledgeable of products and not trying to push the warranty so much.I know the employees get a 50% commission on the warranty but I feel that if they know the product better then I am more inclined to buy the warranty as well.

i have been a Best Buy customer since 2002. i have never had a bad experiance with them! i have purchased things as small as a CD to as big as a washer and dryer set! I always buy the warranty with our big purchases because they have a fantastic warranty program!! I had a problem with my digital camera and it was sent out and fixed within a week. If I ever have a problem with my washer or dryer all i do is call the Best Buy warranty number and I have a service man here within a day. It is always the same service guy which is great! They do not use a 3rd party company to come repair anything! it is always the Geek Squad. If you are ever on the fence about a purchase from Best Buy jump off and choose Best Buy you will be glad you did!!

I went to best buy in July of 2010 and decided to buy a mini HP as well as a washer a dryer and two ipods OH BOY! was I in for it! I spent over $2500 dollars and paid IN FULL with my credit card,well 3 weeks later the computer just crashed,the dryer stopped working and... to beat it all the ipods were almost falling apart! I am making this horror story as short as possible.I USED TO BE on their points system it's $5 for every $250?! Hmm that's not a lot lol.. well to beat it ALL I NEVER RECIEVED THEM! You have to spend 15% of your purchase price to "restock" the com[uter EVEN IF IT'S MESSED UP! my husband spent 45 MINS with the bitchy I know it all manager I GOT MY REFUND! ASHEVILLE.NC BEST BUY ON AIRPORT RD BEWARE AND STAY AWAY!

I recently visited our local Best Buy to check out their laptops. I was very surprised that the sales staff was very eager to help and very up to date on the latest products and which would be best for what I had intended to use it for.

    A staple in electronics

Best Buy is the place to shop electronics. Great selection, knowledgeable staff, competitive pricing, and good website.

Pros: Huge store, user friendly website, trained staff.

Cons: Mark up is too high on smaller accessory items. Also, no price match with online competitiors.

Bestbuy is a pretty decent store very helpful.

Their geek squad aren't the sharpest tools in the shed.

    Customer Service

Best Buy has THE BEST Customer Service. You are greeted when you enter the store. The Reps are always eager to help. Anytime, I need to know what a movie or TV Servies' release date is, the Rep will look it up online for me since I don't have the internet at home.

Best Buy has the best prices and they will match prices if they don't. One time they matched a Wal-Mart Price for me. It was a long time ago, but it stuck in my mind.

Best Buy's prices are not as competitive as Amazon's with regard to virtually anything, especially media. If you want to buy a CD or DVD, Best Buy's in-stock supply is getting smaller by the day, while their competitors grows. Worse, Best Buy coupons only work in-store, not online. As such, most of the media items you want are not available, making Best Buy kind of outdated. Their service is only decent if you are buying a big ticket item like a TV. Other than that, good luck finding help when they are busy.
