Dell has just released a newly redesigned Mini 10 netbook. It starts at just $299, can have a battery life as long as 9.5 hours, weighs as little as 3.1 pounds, and can have options like an HD display, digital TV tuner and GPS.
Right now there are two featured systems, as listed below.
Dell Inspiron Mini 10 - $299
- 1.66GHz Intel Atom Processor N450
- 10.1" Widescreen Display (1024x600)
- Windows XP Home Edition
- Integrated 1.3M Pixel Webcam
- 1GB DDR2 SDRAM
- 160GB, 2.5inch, 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
- 28WHr Lithium-Ion Battery (3-cell)
Dell Inspiron Mini 10 - $329
- 1.66GHz Intel Atom Processor N450
- 10.1" Widescreen Display (1024x600)
- Windows 7 Starter for Small Notebook PCs
- Integrated 1.3M Pixel Webcam
- 1GB DDR2 SDRAM
- 160GB, 2.5inch, 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
- 56WHr Lithium-Ion Battery (6-cell)
Of the two, I would choose the second one. It only costs $30 more and upgrades you to Win 7 and the 6-cell battery (which can offer up to 9 hours and 30 minutes of battery life.)
Other options to consider including are the following.
- Digital TV Tuner for free live high definition television.
- Connection options like location-aware GPS, Bluetooth and wired Ethernet.
- HD screen powered with Broadcom Crystal HD media Accelerator and SRS Surround sound for a cinematic experience with your favorite movies.
