I used to be on a plan, now I'm a pay as you go customer
I don't talk much on the cell phone, so paying $30/month for a plan just doesn't make sense. Tracfone makes it easy to get a phone and set it up. We also transfered our previous cell phone number to our tracfone. The phones are pretty basic, but that's OK. Think about getting Double Minutes For Life (DMFL) when you sign up. On average, you can get 1000 minutes that last for 1 year for about $100 if you get DMFL.

Great For People Who Don't Call All the Time
Tracfone is the best plan anyone can get if they want a phone to make some calls and send some texts, but do not do it enough to pay for a monthly plan. You just buy minutes as you need them. I wish they offered a full keyboard phone though. I cannot use anything else but a QWERTY keyboard or else it is too slow. I would recommend Tracfone for people who are trying to cut back and save money buy don't want to sacrifice cell phones all together.
