I have always had a weight problem.But knowing weight watchers is there, makes me realize it is not hopeless. I am a life time member who fell off the wagon. I recently started again and I know that following the weight watchers guidelines and tracking my food will help me attain my goals.

For individuals who don't know HOW to eat healthy, weight watchers teaches you. overall, the program is easy to follow, encourages eating whole unprocessed foods and promotes healthy exercise. The plan allows all foods, so participants don't feel restricted.

Points Plus/Weight Watchers/Smart Phones
I love the new points plus program. I began (again) in January 2011 - This is the 4th time in the past 10 years). I have never had much success but this time has been very different. Since January 22 I have lost 13.4 lbs. I feel great, and it has been easy to do since I really enjoy fruit and salads.
The only thing I wish were better... an app for the Android phone that links to the weight watcher web site. One of the men that meets where I do has this application on his smart phone, and when he tracks using his phone it automatically updates his web site account also. I have an Android II, and neither of us were able to find an application like he was using. I do track using my phone, just have to enter everything twice, once on the phone, once on the web site.
When will this app option be available for Android?
Working so Far!
I joined WW online 5 weeks ago, and have lost 10 pounds. I will admit that the first week I felt a bit overwhelmed, but once you are used to calculating the points, it's so much easier.
I think the web page is very easy to follow, and has tips and tools for just about anything.
Since I only signed up for the online WW, I don't attend meetings. I am sure you can get even more information and advice by attending those.
Really the only complaint that I have is when tracking food online. I know there is no possible way for WW to have a database that includes every single food item, or every single restaurant. But, I would think they should at least have all of the WW food items listed. I have purchased items from the online WW store, as well as in grocery stores, yet I can't find them in their database, and have to calculate the points on my own.
I should add that I have been exercising as well. I am very pleased with the results, and would highly recommend WW to anyone!
Why I Love Weight Watchers.
Weight Watchers is the best program anyone get use to monitor a successful weight loss. Everything you need is online and available to you. As you use the program you will see how easy it is to utilize your points daily and even reward yourself with treats for doing so well daily. Its like opeining up a birthday present when you get to reward yourself because you've done so well. You don't get to miss out on your favorite foods, you just get to enjoy them in moderation. I say enjoy because, I savor the flavor of food and relized that I take pride in enjoying each meal so that I am satisfied.And have fun plainning each day to see how many points I can save to treat myself special. You have got to love yourself before anyone else can love you.
Starting over again after 50
Now as they say I am considered a senior citizen. Nothing with which I share or advertise. After being a member of weight watchers and achieving life time membership I have come to a time in my life where I need to go back to basics and start over again. By using the on-line program I am able to access recipes and helpful hints and of course keeping track of daily points and weekly weigh ins. At this time in my life where a day is very busy and filled with many responsibilities I have found the on line program to truly fit what I need for now.I have lost 15 and a half pounds and am very motivated to keep it going!
Weight Watchers Works
I had struggled with my weight my entire life. My relationship with food was detrimental to my health and my relationships. I never wanted to go out with my husband because of how awful I looked no matter how pretty the outfit was that I was wearing. It did not help matters that I ate what I wanted and I ate when I wanted.
The irony of my story is that on Weight Watchers I am still able to eat what I want and eat when I want. This is the reason I have been able to successfully keep my weight off ever since joining Weight Watchers in '08.
I was able to lose 65 pounds within 7 months by simply going to the meetings and counting food points--I went from being a size 18 to a size 6 to 8 depending on the clothes.
Before joining Weight Watchers, I had tried every diet and took every supplement that promised to help me lose weight. That was a huge waste of money.

My weight watcher suggestions.
I like weightwatchers support an help but it does get kinda annoying having to count everything for points. I'd like someone to make a few written recipes to choose from each week with points included in recipe that every week u could go a map out your whole week because u know life is to busy an hecktic to count everything all the time. my daughter has mild cerebral palsy an my son has a weak immune system so my life seems to never slow down. I can afford Jenny or medifast so I'd like to pick from recipes for each day of the week that me an my family can make a lifestyle change to loose weight an keep it off.
Weight Watchers has help me lose weight by teaching me to count the point value of everything I put in my mouth. I have lost 50 pounds in four months. Each food has a point value and you are given the number of points you are allowed to eat. It's very important to eat all your required points.It's really alot of food.
Weight Wathcers also helps you to make better food choice such as high in fiber foods and lower in sugar and fats. There are several different meetings each week with differnt leaders to help meet your buzy schedule.
There are hunderds of diets on the market and I have tried many. I feel Weight Wathcers is a way of helping get the weight off and keeping it off by eating properly.
NO MORE FOOD PLOX
I went to weightwatchers with a bag of doughnuts in hand. I now cannot stand the sight of food and refrain from eating. Supplement tablets are made for me! Its awesome. Thanks Weightwatchers!
The new WeightWatchers is wonderful. So much better than the old system. My favourite thing is that now fruit is nil points, makes my life so much easier as I'm not a lover of salad or veg! The propoints value is gradually appearing on WW products which is helpful. I have lost 5lb in 3 weeks much more than I did on the old plan.
I feel like ME again
Years ago I attended weight watchers and remembered that I had to plan, cook, plan and cook. So, I just avoided going back. For some reason there was a lot of buzz in the air about weight watchers. My local supermarket was having a promotion on chicken sausages with samples. I tried one and the girl who was demonstrating told me that you could eat 2 of them for only 4 point! She looked fabulous and I asked her 4 points of what? Oh, Weight Watchers points plus program, there's one right here in Portsmouth. That night I ate my usual snacks, snacks, and more snacks and in the morning I went to weight watchers and weighed in--YIKES! The leader there was very upbeat and I was given a guide and a tracker and instructions on how the system worked. I was given a STRUCTURED target number of points to use, with some extras you could use every week. It seemed simple. It is simple. There is planning but there are so many choices of foods that are really good tasting and filling it's just a matter of choosing. I feel like I'm in control. It's not about being Fat. Its about feeling like ME again.
Skeptical about the new points plus program at first - but loving it!
I have used weight watchers successfully in the past, but after falling off of the bandwagon last year, I made a New Years resolution to get back down to my goal weight. I joined the second week of Jauary 2011, and was very skeptical of the new points plus program. I knew the previous system had worked and I wasn't sure I wanted to risk slower weight loss with the points plus system. After using the program for almost 7 weeks now, I must say that I am finding my weight loss successful.I have already met my 5% goal, and am steadily working towards my 10% goal! So far, I have not gained yet on weigh in day. I continue to recommend weight watchers to anyone who is serious about losing weight!
Wanted: New Marketing Team
I've been a lifetime member for nearly 30 years. The change in Weight Watchers is disappointing. Their customer service is abysmal. For instance, after joining online in December I ordered a Member's Kit and a new Points Plus counter. Ten minutes later I fumbled my way to another section of their site and the same products were on sale! I emailed customer service ---NO WAY do they give you a phone number anywhere! I received a reply from someone 4 days later--a one line that essentially said "sorry". I finally Googled "WW World HQ" and found a phone number---a woman told me to wait--she put the phone down--not on hold---I waited 20 minutes before I hung up.
The website is OK but confusing. There are quite a few foods not listed--common foods that I would think would be on it. In addition---some foods are on there but not easy to find---ie. mashed potatoes.
When I went to Weight Watchers and followed their plan for weightloss, I was very impressed with the results. I feel very pleased with my body now and I love the way I look.
Once you start, it's best not to stop
I had been using the e-tools online and was slowly but consistently losing weight. Before I realizes it I had gone from 172 lbs. to 152 lbs, and loving it all the way. I was going with a buddy and we would compare points, look for the best bang for our points. We compared everything we ate and life was easy. When she got to her goal she stopped paying for her online tools and stopped going to the meetings. I stopped too. I have now gained most of the weight back, I'm 164, and am now, just like every year, hoping that I'll lose the weight by Christmas.
If you can afford it, you should continue to use WW on-line tools and stick with the plan. I would strongly suggest that you do it with a buddy. It was the most helpful thing to me, other than the guidance from WW.
If you have many locations in your area, make sure you go to one where you are inspired by your counselor. The counselor does make the difference.
It was so easy
I found that the online tool was quite easy. I found recipes, shopping guides and was surprised to find that other users offer a lot of useful advice as well. The actual website did not need a tutorial, although one is available. I found I was able to begin usng the site immediately with little to no assistance. Looking forward to dropping the pounds.
I have been an on again/off again member of WW for 20 years. I am impressed with the great online, user friendly techniques that WW has on their website. We all live in a very busy world and congrats to WW for keeping up with the need for speed and weight loss!
Happiest Place in the World
I have been a dedicated Weight Watchers participant since I signed up for the program. In my first week, I lost four pounds! The rules are simple: eat what you like, but don't go over your points. You will soon learn that some things you might want to eat will be more points than they are worth. Slowly, you will begin to incorporate more vegetables (all are around 0 points) and fruits (almost always less than 2) into your diet. You will begin to see that not only are you changing your diet, you are changing your lifestyle--for the better. Weight Watchers certainly is a life-changing experience and I am grateful that I decided to give the program a shot! Thank-you Weight Watchers for changing my life!
